August 8, 2009 - Typhoon Morakot hit with great floods (not as destructive as the Antedeluvian flood, but with so many dead, who would want to murmur or complain, I ask you!?). So far the death toll is 543, with 117 missing and 1300 trapped in remote mountainous villages for 11 days after the typhoon hit and caused multiple mudslides.
June 21, 2009 - Tropical Storm Linfa – 7 people were killed by Linfa, with another 12 missing, agricultural losses in Taiwan 12 million US Dollars
September 8, 2008 - Typhoon Sinlaku - Flooding/mudslides caused by the typhoon kills dozens, ruins 225,000 homes, and the estimated losses to crops were reported to be close to 3.6 million dollars.
July 27, 2008 - Typhoon Fung-Wong - 359,036 households lost power, 13,034 lost their water supply and 17,361 lost telephone service.
