Sri Lanka's Evil Government

Sri Lanka's Evil GovernmentSri Lanka’s form of government is a Republic and their current president is Mahinda Rajapaksa.  Much controversy has surrounded their government and election in the last year when the president declared an election would take place, then when it was determined that ex-army chief and defeated presidential candidate Sarath Fonseka was planning a coup, he was arrested and jailed without charges being brought and remains there today.  No sense of justice under this Constitution.

Their doom is further evidenced by the 26-year long civil war which ended in May, 2009 and left 65,000 people dead.  A large part of the “soldiers” in this war were children.  And, if that slaughter was not enough, Sri Lankan government is known for killing journalists they disagree with.  In the past decade, the government has been responsible for 17 journalist deaths.  No free speech there!

Sri Lanka’s outstanding debt has exponentially climbed over the last year with no apparent way out.  In November, 2009, 250 troops were sent by their government to Haiti on a “peace-keeping” mission.  Here’s thinking there is no peace among those troops who were sent in just prior to the 7.0 magnitude earthquake.  Thank God for all his judgments!  The Lord has set the basest of men to rule over you, Sri Lanka!
