
On average, Mexico has experienced three or four earthquakes yearly
of magnitude 6 or greater over the past decade. It also is hit with tsunamis
along the Pacific coast, volcanoes and destructive earthquakes in the center
and south, and hurricanes on the Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean
coasts.
According to the CIA World Factbook, this country has a number of
ongoing problems, which are all curses from the Lord:
- scarcity of hazardous waste disposal facilities
- natural fresh water resources scarce and polluted in north, inaccessible & poor
quality in center and extreme southeast
- raw sewage and industrial effluents polluting rivers in urban
areas
- deforestation; widespread erosion; desertification; deteriorating
agricultural lands
- serious air & water pollution in the national capital & urban
centers along US-Mexico border
- the government considers the lack of clean water & deforestation
national security issues
September 16, 2008 - Mexico Indep. Day Grenade Attack kills 8 and injures more than 100.
September 14, 2008 - 24 men were shot in the head in the largest single mass shooting since drug-related violence began in 2006.
August 28, 2008 - Twelve Mexicans were beheaded and their bodies dumped outside the city of Merida on the Yucatan Peninsula.
August 26, 2008 - Up to this date, more than 2,700 people had been killed in Mexican drug turf wars. In fact, the Texas government officials are scared that that the violence could spill across the border. (Perhaps they missed the fact that this country is full of rabid criminals and violence.)
August 18, 2008 - Hit men kill 13 at family gathering in Ciudad Juarez, including a 1-year-old.
June 2008 - Police raided a nightclub, using
tear gas; 12 people killed, including minors.
August 2007 - God sent Hurricane Dean: power
was knocked out, but 130,000 residents warned to seek shelter or evacuate.
The president was quoted saying: "Fortunately, based on initial information,
the damage is not as bad as we had expected it would be, thank God." He
thanks God for outcomes he favors, but where is his thanks for all things?
Psalm 93:3 “The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have
lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.”
November 2007 - Floods Swamp 900,000 homes
and more than a million people were displaced. President Felipe Calderon
was quoted saying: "The situation is extraordinarily grave. This
is one of the worst natural disasters in the history of the country." He
also called it one of Mexico's worst recent natural disasters.
October 2007 - A portable drilling rig crashed
into an oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico. At least 18 oil workers were
killed and 7 missing.
September 2007 - Dynamite blast on truck
killing at least 23 people and injuring more than 140.
February 2006 – Trapped miners; 65 dead.
October 2005 - Hurricane Wilma killed seven
people and caused $2.6 billion in damages.
Jeremiah 23:19 “Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth
in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the
head of the wicked.”
October 2005 - Hurricane Stan: 80 killed
and 1-2 billion dollars in damages.
January 22, 2003 - Colima, Mexico Earthquake.
At least 29 people were killed, 300 injured, about 10,000 homeless; 2,005
houses destroyed and 6,615 damaged.
Isaiah 29:6 “Thou shalt be visited of the LORD of hosts with
thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest,
and the flame of devouring fire.”
January 2003 - New Year’s Fireworks explosion;
28 killed.
October 1999 - Flooding of Veracruz, Puebla
and Tabasco; 425 killed.
September 1988 - Hurricane Gilbert; 225
killed.
September 1985 – Richter scale 8.1-magnitude
quake that killed 9,000 people in Mexico City was one of the most devastating earthquakes in
the history of the americas.
Ezekiel 38: 19-20 “For in my jealousy and in
the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be
a great shaking in the land of Israel; So that the fishes of the sea,
and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping
things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon
the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains
shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall
shall fall to the ground.”
