Marina Mahathir, the daughter of one of Malaysia’s former Prime Ministers, has publicly called for an end of discrimination based on sexual orientation.  She is well known as a leader in many non-governmental organizations such as the Malaysian AIDS Foundation.

The Pink Triangle Malaysia was organized for "providing HIV/AIDS education, prevention, care and support programs, sexuality awareness and empowerment programs for vulnerable communities in Malaysia".
