Lebanon's Evil Government

Lebanon's Evil GovernmentThe history of what we now call Lebanon dates back several thousand years.  The Phoenicians built a great empire starting in 1550 BC. They were related to and probably included quite a few of the ancient Caananites. The cities of Tyre and Sidon were important trading ports for the Phoenicians. They were particularly famous for their purple die.

2 Chronicles 2:  13  And now I have sent a cunning man, endued with understanding, of Huram my father’s,
14  The son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tyre, skilful to work in gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson; also to grave any manner of graving, and to find out every device which shall be put to him, with thy cunning men, and with the cunning men of my lord David thy father.

Islam arrived in the seventh century, shortly after Mohammed’s death. During the Middle Ages, European Crusades marched through Lebanon on their way to Jerusalem.  They clashed with the Muslims there and established a so-called Christian kingdom briefly. By the late 13th Century, Lebanon returned to Muslim rule. As the Ottoman Empire arose, they took control of the region and solidified the Muslim presence.

After the collapse of the Ottoman Empire in the early 1920s, France governed Lebanon as a colony.  The French wrote a constitution for Lebanon in 1926 which created a power sharing agreement between the three main religions: Christianity, Islam and Druze. Each religions share of seats in the government was proportional to that group’s percent of the 1926 census. At that point the Christians were in the majority with the Muslims next and the Druze in third place.

In 1943, Lebanon achieved independence from France. The first elections were held in November of that year. The power sharing agreement established in 1926 by the French was still in effect. In 1948, an influx of 100,000 Palestinian refugees from the newly created state of Israel tipped the population. Now, the balance of power set up according to the population of each religion no longer reflected the current population.

Since independence in 1946, Lebanon has alternated between periods of great prosperity, especially for the region and destructive conflicts.  The notorious Lebanese Civil War ripped the country apart fromm 1975-1990.

After the war, Israel occupied the Southern quarter of the country. The Lebanese parliament allowed Hezbollah, considered a terrorist group by Doomed america  and Israel, to keep their arms and fight the IDF (Israel Defense Forces). In 2000, Israel withdrew from Lebanon.

In 2006, Hezbollah in Lebabon fought a 34 day war with Israel. The war seemed to strengthen Hezbollah’s support as Israel looked like a big bully as a result.

Saadan Hariri is the Prime Minister of Lebanon. He pursues a pro-Western course of leadership. In opposition to him, Hezbollah still enjoys a lot of support. Hezbollah pursues a pro-Syria course of government. Prime Minister Hariri has cast his lot with Doomed Americans. By joining with this Beast led monstrosity, he shall lead his people to the bottomless pit as well.
