2003- A heat wave throughout France, Spain and Italy was responsible for the deaths of 50,000 people.

2002 - 2 earthquakes in 2 days killed 27 people at a school in Molise, Italy.

2002 - A measles epidemic spread affecting 9,997 persons.

2000 - A flood in Northern Italy killed 24 people and left over 40,000 homeless.

1999 - A building in Foggia collapsed and killed 61 people and left 4 missing.

1998 - The Sarno flood killed 159 people.

1998 - A landslide occurred in the Campania Region that killed 160 people and left 214 homeless

1997 - In Central Italy, an earthquake occurred and killed 10 people.

1997 – In Turin, food poisoning resulted in 700 people injured/sick.

1995 - The Italy Romavia Antonov 24 air disaster killed 49 people.

1994 - The Piedmont flood killed at least 24 people.
