The Islamic Republic of Iran is every bit as democratic as the United States. Which is to say, in theory the people elect the leaders they choose but in practice politics are controlled tightly by the political class. In America that class consists of supposedly average citizens who happen to be rabid fag enablers and adulterers. In Iran the ruling elite consists of supposedly ordinary citizens who happen to be rabid Muslim idolaters. Iran has a parliament and president as well as a separate Judiciary in addition to the unelected Supreme leader and Assembly of Experts (i.e. die-hard Mohammed worshippers.)

In as much as the Iranian government is totally ensnared with Islam, they openly and adamantly proclaim their rebellion against God. They effectively outlaw true Gospel preaching a crime by forbidding anyone form talking to Muslims in such a way as to show them that it is a false religion. Muslims converting to other religions get thrown in jail or executed. Anyone found guilty of proselytizing to Muslims (considered trying to lure them away from Islam) is executed. So, speaking the true word of God in Iran will at least land you in jail but most likely get you executed.

This government oversees the heretical process of polygamous marriage and temporary marriage in defiance of clear scriptural commands.  Basically, anything is considered a legal marriage by the state if you just label it as some form of Islamic marriage.
