God Hates Burma. Burma is one of the poorest nations in Southeast Asia, and that is not just some turn of bad luck. After forming a government in 1948, Burma lost all of the wealth that they had while under British rule. In 1962, the military staged a coup de tat against the government and has had a strong rule ever since. Of course, when the military runs things, you can only expect brutish violence and mayhem to be the answer to all their problems. Burma is doomed.
