God's Wrath Revealed Against Bosnia and Herzegovina

Isaiah 59:18  According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.

Jeremiah 25:14  For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.

War

1992-1995  The Bosnian War or Srebrenica Massacre The Lord brought genocide upon a disobedient and violent nation by causing the Bosnian Serbs to seek extinction of the Bosnian Muslims living in Srebrenica. It is estimated that up to 110, 000 people, old and young and mostly Muslim, were killed by the end of the war. Another 1.8 million people were displaced. The Srebrenica Massacre is the largest mass killing that has occurred since WWII.

In addition, the Lord has cursed Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) with earthquakes, floods, drought and landslides which have caused their economy to suffer greatly. Pollution, mining and civil conflicts have also caused much destruction to the infrastructure and supply of water.

Earthquakes

1981 earthquake injured 1117 people and killed 15 people,

October 1969 Banja Luka Earthquake killed 15 people and injured at least 1000 people

Floods

From 2001-2005 flooding was marked by four major floods.

April 2004 flood affected 275,000 people.

1976-1980 flooding affected almost half of the country’s cities causing catastrophic damage.

Other disasters

May 2003 drought sparked many wildfires that resulted in $250 million in damage and affected over 60,000 people.

Landslides are caused by ‘soil setting’ which results from the practice of salt mining.

Landmines have killed more than 488 people since 1996.  By 2008, it was estimated that there were at least 222,000 active land mines throughout the country that are still in existence.

Air pollution is also a national problem resulting from their metallurgical plants.
