The constitution of Algeria supposedly supports freedom of belief and opinion, but, in practice, non-Islamic religions are very restricted. Ordinance 06-03, which was passed on March 15, 2006, restricts public assembly and worship of non-Muslim religious groups. Twenty-seven “churches” were closed in 2008 due to noncompliance with the ordinance. The law also increases punishments for individuals who proselytize Muslims to a maximum of five years in jail and a fine of 500,000 dinars (about $7,100). Yike. The punishment for being a fag is almost nonexistent compared to this. Algeria framed mischief by a law in setting up a system for keeping the truth of God out of that country. King Jeroboam did that in Israel, and he’s in Hell now; the officials who set up these systems to cause the people to sin will join him there.
1Kings 15:29 And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite:
30 Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made Israel sin, by his provocation wherewith he provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger.
Algeria is a constitutional republic with a democratically elected government. The President, who is elected by Algerian citizens, is currently Abdelaziz Bouteflika. He was popular enough to get a constitutional amendment passed to remove the restriction on the number of terms that someone can serve as President, thus allowing him to serve as President a third time. Bouteflika fought in the Algerian War of Independence, which left a serious mark on that nation. The Algerian Civil War pretty much ended in the 1990’s, but Bouteflika finds himself leading a nation that is still in a state of emergency because of terrorist attacks stemming from that war. He refuses to use his office of power to lead his nation away from filthy Islam and all the other sins that have a stranglehold on Algeria, so God takes away their peace.
Isaiah 57:20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.
21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.
